Job Title: MedSurg RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: RN License required Certifications: BLS Certification required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - 1 year of experience in specialty nursing - Previous travel experience required - BLS Certification required Description: The unit is a small community healthcare facility. It is licensed for 100 beds, with a typical occupancy around 88 beds. The hospital is committed to growth and expansion. It is a non-trauma facility and serves as a teaching location for medical students and nursing school programs. No additional on-site testing is required for candidates. IV pumps used are Baxter Sigma and cardiac monitors are from Neon Kohden. The medication dispensing system utilized is Omnicell. The electronic medical record system used is CPSI - Evident Thrive. Orientation consists of receiving a pre-orientation packet and a one-day training process. Staff parking is free and located a short distance from the entrance. The cafeteria offers good quality meals and operates from 7 am to 6 pm. Weekly requirements typically include working every other weekend. Holidays are worked into the permanent staff's rotation. Preferred scrub colors are navy, but black or gray are acceptable. Telemetery is monitored remotely, but nurses are not required to interpret strips. Commonly administered drips include insulin, cardizem, and amiodarone, with titration protocols posted on the wall. Respiratory therapy services are available in-house 24/7 for patient management. There is no IV team, but staff can assist with difficult IV access. Travelers are required to float to other areas if necessary. Each traveler will receive specific floor orientation with a designated nurse for training. The cancellation policy allows for two shift cancellations within the contract period. The charting system used is TruBridge - Evident.
