Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Travel experience required - Epic charting experience required - Patient ratios: 1:6 - Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity Description: The registered nurse will work a night shift schedule. This position requires two years of experience. Candidates must have experience in a medical-surgical and telemetry setting. The nurse will be responsible for managing a patient population that ranges from young adults to geriatric patients. The unit has private and semi-private rooms for a maximum patient census of 20. The registered nurse will be required to float to other units of equal or lesser acuity as needed. The nurse must be skilled in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience with telemetry monitoring, both on the unit and remote, is necessary. The registered nurse will also manage pre/post hemodialysis, renal failure, and have proficiency in accessing and managing ports. Skills in phlebotomy, IV management, and wound care are essential. The nurse will be involved in the administration of blood products and management of various lines and pumps. Isolation precautions and appropriate use of PPE are important for patient safety. The registered nurse will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes various support services. This position requires adaptability and strong communication skills to provide quality patient care.
