Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years preferred License: State or Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Travel experience preferred - Previous charge experience - Experience with patient ratios of 1:6 - Charting system experience required Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical specialty. The shift consists of three 12-hour nights, from 19:00 to 07:00. Two years of experience is preferred, with travel experience also preferred. Certifications required include ACLS and BLS. The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1:6. Skills in the interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions, and non-invasive airway management are essential. Additional skills include the management of cardiac drips without titration and peripheral line care. This unit primarily cares for adults and geriatric patients. The daily census on the unit averages around 30 patients. No special procedures or equipment are noted for this position. The nurse will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary support services, including physical therapy and respiratory services. The patient diagnoses may include pneumonia, respiratory failure, sepsis, AKI, chest pain, cellulitis, and altered mental status. Weekend coverage is required. All requested time off must be included in the initial submission. Previous staff members must wait one year before returning in a traveler capacity.
