Job Title: RN - Med/Surg Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Minimum 1-year current acute care hospital Med/Surg experience Description: Travel RN position in Med/Surg. Unit Information: - 38 Bed Unit - 55 Staff Members - Day Shift: 2 charges (without patients), RN ratio of 4-5:1, 2 Patient Care Technicians - Night Shift: 1-2 charges (depending on staffing), RN ratio of 4-5:1, 2 Patient Care Technicians - Patient Ratios: Estimated 5:1 or 6:1, never guaranteed - Equipment: IV pumps, seizure monitoring, Bi-pap, C-pap, glucometer - EMR: Meditech Typical hiring profile: Candidates with travel RN experience and local CNAs and sitters are preferred. Candidates must have acute care hospital Med/Surg experience and BLS certification. Preferred qualifications include ACLS and neuro experience. Typical procedures performed on the unit include: - NIH/stroke assessments and neuro assessments - Fall risk assessment - Trach care - Feeding tubes Ideal candidates will possess: - Initiative - Collaboration skills - Strong critical thinking - Ability to multi-task and work well in a team - Positive and energetic attitude - Flexibility and engagement with patient experience Additional consideration may be given to those enthusiastic about the neuro patient population and with experience in this area.
