- Number of Staff – 50
- Type of staff:
- Day Shift –1 Charge nurse per floor, RNs, LVNS, PCTs, and unit secretary when grid allows
- Night Shift – 1 Charge nurse per floor, RNs, LVNS, PCTs
- Patient Ratios – 5:1 (Med Surg Specialty 4 th Floor). 6:1 (Med Surg 5 th Floor)
- Type of equipment – remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, glucometers, dynamaps
- EMR –Alterra (Allscripts)
Typical hiring profileSkill Set Most recruited for:
Must have : candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
- Telemetry experience
- Med Surg Experience
Preferred or nice to have : candidates with these skills will be considered first.
- Cardiac recognition, IV starts
- Time management
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
- All abdominal: chole, appy, colectomy, diagnostic procedures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, heart caths, run offs
- Gastric sleeves, total hip, knee and shoulder replacements. Ortho trauma repairs (fractures)
Best personality Fit: - Team oriented, positive and flexible.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: Floating Area(s): - Mandatory Float as needed: Inpatient rehab, ED, PCU. Will not be given an assignment outside of skill level or scope.
Dress Code :
- Scrub Color/Attire - Currently wear black scrubs but will be moving to Medical City Blue
Unit Guidelines/Policies : Please feel free to attach unit policies and guidelines.
Weekends and On call(if any) - Weekend shifts are required. No on call. Will push back per the attendance policy.
