Job Title: ICU RN Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour variable day and night shifts Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU experience, plus 1 year travel experience License: Valid RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have Cerner experience Must be proficient in rhythm interpretation Experience in titrating drips Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Intensive Care Unit. The unit typically has a capacity of 16 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2, with 1:1 ratios for higher acuity patients. Common diagnoses include respiratory issues, strokes, neuro conditions, GI issues, and cardiac cases. Nurses will be required to titrate various intravenous drips, including all ICU drips, propofol, precedex, and vasopressors. There will be support from nurse aids in the unit. Pulmonologists will be available for patient care during the day, with a team of residents assisting. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7. Equipment used includes ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, vapotherm, trach equipment, and nitric. All RNs are responsible for monitoring their patients' telemetry strips and must possess strong rhythm interpretation skills. Scheduling allows for self-scheduling, but preferences will be considered after initial submission. Weekend requirements may be every other or every third weekend, depending on the schedule needs. Holiday work may also be required on alternate holidays or more if volunteer opportunities are available. There is no call or standby requirement for this position. Agency staff are prioritized for floating to similar units or other patient observer roles within the facility. A clean and professional appearance is expected, with no specific dress code mandated.
