Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years in a large, urban hospital License: Required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience required - Previous experience in a Level I Academic Medical Center preferred - Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs Description: This position is for a registered nurse in a critical care unit providing care to critically ill patients. The unit provides care for a variety of medical illnesses, including respiratory failure, liver failure, and septic shock. Ratios are 1:2-3 during the day and 1:2-3 at night. Travelers will float frequently to meet the staffing needs. Nurses will potentially float to various other units as needed. Weekend shifts are required, with four shifts out of eight possible in a four-week period. Travelers must work two out of three major holidays. Candidates must be more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered. Candidates must have a confirmed license before submission. Standard scrubs are mandatory, and specific requirements will be provided upon confirmation. The facility is a 718-bed acute care hospital known for its quality of care and advanced medical research. Interdisciplinary support is available, including teams from respiratory, physical therapy, and pharmacy. The main patient diagnoses include transplants and sepsis. Experience in medical and transplant ICUs is preferred. The facility is a 100% nicotine-free environment. Candidates must provide requests for time off with their application.
