Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 Years in Specialty License: Valid Nursing License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with Mechanical Ventilation, IV Starts, and Computerized Charting (Epic) Description: The position is for a registered nurse in the MICU. This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients. Common patient diagnoses include oncologic emergencies, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and sepsis. Patients often require complex treatments and monitoring for their conditions. Common interventions may include mechanical ventilation, arterial pressure monitoring, central venous catheters, and chemotherapy administration. Candidates are required to have experience with managing ventilated patients and interpreting arterial blood gases. The patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 2:1. Travel experience is required, and candidates must have current acute care experience. References from professional supervisors are mandatory, including one from a managerial capacity. All candidates must have completed education from an accredited nursing program. Emergency response and interdisciplinary support teams are available in the unit. The position requires flexibility in scheduling with the possibility of a combination of day and night shifts.
