Description:
Caring for ventilated patients.
Initiating and titrating IV drips (vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics).
Assisting with intubations and line placement.
Monitoring critically ill patients with primary diagnoses of sepsis, respiratory failure (acute and chronic), renal failure (acute and chronic), myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolism, and pneumonia.
This is a mixed acuity unit.
ICU and progressive patients are on the same unit.
Travelers will care for both types of patients, more often progressive patients than ICU patients.
Equipment utilized includes heart monitors, electronic medical records, medication dispensing systems, EKG machines, and Dopplers.
Floating to other units and departments is required.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:3 for progressive care and 1:2 or 1:3 for ICU care.
Dress code includes Caribbean blue scrubs with black, white, or Caribbean blue jackets.
Onboarding through workforce development is required to review policies and obtain necessary training and access.
Cancellation policy allows for up to 24 hours per contract.
