Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in a large hospital; Level 1 preferred. Level 2 experience accepted. License: Must obtain required license before contract begins. Certifications: BLS, ACLS. Must-Have: Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment. Experience with interpretating EKG strips and managing trachs. N95 fit testing prior to work. EPIC experience is required. Willingness to float as necessary within the facility. Availability to work every other weekend and holiday. Description: The position is for a registered nurse in an intensive care unit. Patient ratios are targeted at 1:2-3. Travel experience is preferred. The unit is a 40-bed, fast-paced, high acuity ICU. Common procedures include endoscopy, bronchoscopy, tracheostomy, and gastrostomy tube placement. Nurses frequently recover patients immediately post-operative. The unit supports a variety of diagnoses, including respiratory failure, sepsis, and traumatic injuries. Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from various specialized services. The nurse will need to manage complex patient care, including ventilated patients, central line care, and medication titration. Nurses must comply with infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions. Floating may occur to support other units based on nursing care needs. The contract may be subject to cancellation in cases of low census with proper notice.
