Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Current RN license Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; TNCC preferred Must-Have: Must be willing to care for COVID-19 patients ICU experience Positive attitude and flexibility Strong teamwork and desire for excellence Self-motivated with good communication and people skills Ability to work in a diverse environment Description: This position requires providing care in an ICU setting. The unit consists of 26 beds with a patient ratio of 2:1. Staffing includes RNs and a unit secretary/COVID runner. Total care is provided by RNs. The unit is equipped with ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, balloon pumps, ventriculostomy drains, and glucometers. Technology use includes iMobile phones for all staff. PPE includes masks, face shields, goggles, PAPRs, and hoods for COVID-19 patients. Documentation is performed using Meditech and Evidence-Based Clinical Documentation. Nursing shifts are 12 hours from 7 PM to 7 AM with every other weekend and holiday requirements. Nursing staff may float to other medical-surgical units as needed. Patient experience requirements include hourly rounding and bedside hand-off reporting. The unit focuses on compassionate and connected care using AIDET. The unit aims for high-quality measures and has been recognized for excellence. Key skills include ventilator management, critical care drip knowledge, and thorough assessment skills. Additional procedures performed include intubations, cardioversions, and management of IABP and CRRT. Staff includes many nationally certified professionals and several highly tenured nursing staff. Self-scheduling is available within certain guidelines. The unit also cares for ICU COVID-19 patients.
