Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:45 - 19:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience preferred License: Valid Registered Nurse license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required in hand at time of submission Must-Have: Previous travel experience preferred Float required Description: The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The successful candidate will coordinate all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaboration with other professional disciplines is essential to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achieve desired patient outcomes. This role involves contributing to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Collecting patients' health data and analyzing assessment data is crucial in determining patient problems. Identifying expected outcomes individualized to the patient is a key responsibility. A comprehensive plan of care will be developed that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes. Implementing interventions identified in the plan of care is required. Evaluating patient progress toward attainment of outcomes is also essential. Assisting with the planning of care, evaluating, modifying, and coordinating care while communicating well with other disciplines is expected. Delegating tasks to unlicensed personnel in compliance with the Board of Nursing is part of the role. Conducting discharge planning and assisting the patient and significant others to obtain knowledge about illness and injury prevention is important. Maintaining confidentiality with all information is mandatory. Performing any and all other duties as assigned is part of the job description.
