Description:
Join our dynamic ICU team.
The unit consists of 31 beds.
Patient ratios are typically 2:1, but can vary to 1:1 or 3:1 based on patient acuity and staffing.
During dayshift, a unit secretary is available to assist.
There may be a nurse extern working as a tech occasionally.
The unit is equipped with advanced technology such as ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000.
The documentation system used is Meditech.
There is a minimum requirement of 4 weekend shifts per schedule.
Schedules are created in 4-week increments with some self-scheduling options.
The manager may adjust shifts to ensure balanced staffing.
Contract labor is first to float to other areas as needed.
Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and their families.
Advanced skills required include the insertion of central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions.
The required uniform is navy scrubs, both tops and bottoms.
