Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced, 45-bed medical/surgical trauma unit serving hemodynamically and medically stable trauma patients
- Care for patients admitted from the emergency department, transferred from the ICU, or admitted from surgical and procedural services, addressing both acute and chronic needs
- Administer and manage IV drips in accordance with unit protocols and scope of practice
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using EPIC electronic health records
- Float to other units across the facility as needed to meet staffing demands, including potential float to an off-site campus
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics, and LPNs where assigned
Required Qualifications- Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Nebraska (pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be scheduled six weeks out)
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records charting
- Experience administering and managing IV drips
- Willingness and ability to float frequently to various units to meet facility staffing needs
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (may be considered in lieu of prior travel nursing experience)
- Background in trauma, medical/surgical, or telemetry nursing in a high-acuity environment
- Familiarity with multi-campus hospital systems and cross-unit float assignments
