Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract (13 or 26 week options available) | Days, 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:00) | 36 or 48 hour per week options available | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a general medical surgical and telemetry unit serving patients with conditions including total knee and hip replacements, complicated orthopedic cases, pulmonary, sepsis, GI, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses
  • Care for patients on a secured floor that includes those with underlying behavioral health conditions such as detox and dementia, utilizing safety and de-escalation techniques
  • Manage IV drips as required across all assigned floors
  • Accurately document patient care using EPIC electronic health records
  • Float within scope to various units across the facility, including a secondary campus, to meet staffing needs as directed
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport, paramedics, and LPNs where assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending Nebraska RN state license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Proficiency with EPIC charting required
  • Ability and willingness to float frequently to various units to meet facility staffing needs
  • Comfort and ability to care for behavioral health patient populations, including those flagged as potentially violent
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred
  • Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (may be considered in lieu of local travel experience requirements)
