Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract | Nights (4x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | 13 or 26-week contract options | 36 or 48-hour weekly options available | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct bedside care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients with acute and/or chronic conditions including sepsis, respiratory illness, gastrointestinal disorders, endocrine conditions, and cardiac disease within a team-based care delivery model
  • Manage titratable drips, chest tubes, tracheostomies, complex wound care, post-bariatric procedures, high oxygen delivery systems, and end-of-life care
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team including Lead Nurses, Virtual Nurses, LPNs, and Nursing Assistants to deliver coordinated patient care
  • Float to other units and campuses as needed to meet facility staffing requirements; float assignments may include a variety of med-surg, neuro, trauma, cardiac, and observation units
  • Adhere to weekend requirements: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (Friday night and Saturday night for night shift)
  • Comply with all facility policies including 100% nicotine-free requirements and mandatory facility-branded scrub uniform standards
Required Qualifications
  • Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Nebraska (pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
  • Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience, obtained at a large, urban hospital
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records charting
  • Experience managing titratable drips required
  • Candidate must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (may be considered in lieu of large urban hospital requirement for first-time travelers)
  • Familiarity with team-based care delivery models including collaboration with virtual nursing and unlicensed assistive personnel
  • Experience with complex patient populations including post-bariatric, high-acuity respiratory, and end-of-life care
