    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Neuro Cardiac Unit)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (12-Hour Days, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to complex Medical/Surgical/Telemetry patients including post cardiac cath with interventions, CVA/TIA, ICD, complex abdominal surgeries, oncology, and post-craniotomy patients
    • Perform NIHSS assessments, dysphagia screenings, and strong neurological assessments
    • Interpret telemetry and 12-lead EKGs; must pass required telemetry competency testing
    • Initiate and titrate drips including insulin, cardiac, and heparin infusions
    • Perform heart cath recovery including femoral and TR band management
    • Float within skillset to alternate campuses as needed, with a minimum of 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus float assignments
    Required Qualifications
    • Current active Registered Nurse compact license required
    • Minimum of two years of strong Telemetry / Medical-Surgical nursing experience
    • At least one prior travel nursing assignment required
    • Trauma Level II experience required
    • Current AHA BLS certification required
    • NIHSS certification required; recent Epic EMR experience required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with NG/PEG tubes and PIV insertion
    • Familiarity with Tikosyn dosing and chest tube management
    • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to adapt to change and manage a dynamic patient environment
