Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job TypeContract (13–26 weeks) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit, managing patients with higher oxygen demands, dialysis needs, atrial fibrillation, and post-heart catheterization diagnoses
- Administer and monitor cardiac drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation
- Provide step-down level care for patients transitioning from the ICU (no ventilator or pressor support required)
- Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and respond to changes in patient condition
- Float to other like units as needed based on census demands, performing only tasks within demonstrated competencies
- Complete required pre-assignment modules and orientation activities within designated timeframes
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry unit
- Minimum 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience caring for step-down or intermediate care patients transitioning from an ICU setting
- Familiarity with cardiac monitoring and management of arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation
- Experience with dialysis patient care in an acute care setting
