Key Responsibilities- Provide direct inpatient nursing care for adult and geriatric patients on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a focus on patient experience
- Manage and care for patients presenting with diagnoses including stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, CHF, sepsis, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, acute kidney failure, and post heart catheterization
- Perform and support specialized procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
- Administer and manage medications using the Omnicell medication system
- Float to other units as needed based on census and demonstrated competencies
- Complete required pre-assignment modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry unit
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Must not be a first-time traveler
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience caring for stroke and TIA patient populations in an inpatient setting
- Familiarity with higher-acuity medical surgical patient care and telemetry monitoring
- Experience with peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation procedures
