Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract | Days | Full-Time | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit managing diagnoses including chest pain, CAD, arrhythmias, CHF, COPD exacerbation, MI, renal failure, PE, GI bleed, and related conditions
  • Perform telemetry monitoring, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage cardiac and vasoactive drip titration (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Heparin)
  • Provide pre- and post-procedural care for cardiac catheterization, angiogram, PPM/AICD, ablations, and vascular surgeries including sheath removal at bedside
  • Manage and maintain central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs
  • Administer blood products, access ports, and perform IV starts while adhering to isolation precautions and wound care protocols
  • Participate in holiday rotation and be available for float to other inpatient units as needed; may be assigned to an emergency response team during facility emergency events
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submittal
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry specialty
  • BLS certification (AHA required)
  • Demonstrated competency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiac drip titration
  • Experience with chest tubes, post-cardiac cath/sheath removal, CABG care, port accessing, and blood product administration
  • Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (address on driver's license to site address) – local travelers are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with vasoactive drip management and hemodynamic monitoring in a high-acuity telemetry environment
  • Familiarity with vascular surgery post-operative care (CEAs, fem-pops) and pre/post PPM/AICD and ablation procedures
  • Prior travel nursing experience with strong adaptability to varied inpatient unit assignments
