Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float
LocationDenver Metro Area, Colorado (Zone-Based Float – Multiple Facilities Within a 60-Mile Radius)
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite | Float Pool Assignment
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care across Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units within a regional float zone, covering a variety of specialty areas including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Ortho, Renal, Rehab, Bariatrics, Trauma, and ED Observation
- Manage an adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, neurological disorders, post-surgical recovery, general medicine, psych/detox, and more
- Titrate Heparin drips and manage patients requiring respiratory therapy equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 based on acuity, with nurse aide support available on units
- Adapt to flexible scheduling formats, including assignment to a single facility for the week or Just-In-Time (JIT) facility assignment 1–2 hours before shift start
- Fulfill weekend shift requirements (6–9 shifts per 6-week schedule) and participate in holiday rotation as needed
Required Qualifications- Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Ability to float throughout a 60-mile radius zone and maintain housing that supports this requirement
- Must be available and present in-state for the full week of orientation
- Valid driver's license required
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in a neuro nursing setting
- Experience working in a float pool or multi-facility environment
- Comfort with floating to varying acuity levels including PCU/Stepdown and ICU (low-acuity holds)
