Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every 3rd Weekend | Holidays as Needed | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct inpatient nursing care for patients with rehabilitation needs including CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injuries, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility
- Perform vital signs assessment, medication reconciliation, patient health questionnaire and allergy history documentation, and interpretation of laboratory results
- Execute dressing changes and set up aseptic and sterile procedure trays
- Conduct specimen collection including capillary draws, phlebotomy, throat cultures, and urine clean catch, with proper specimen labeling
- Manage telephone triage and pharmacy calls including patient refill requests
- Float between health system campuses as needed per facility policy
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience – first-time travelers will not be considered
- Current BLS certification
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records – required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility location – no local candidates accepted
- Must be able to pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed; no study materials provided)
Preferred Experience / Skills- Acute care rehabilitation nursing experience strongly preferred
- Experience caring for post-stroke, post-aneurysm, or post-operative surgical rehabilitation patients
- Familiarity with inpatient rehab department workflows and specialized rehabilitation patient populations
