Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Float Pool
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care across a Medical Surgical/Telemetry float pool covering multiple units including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
Manage an adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, oncology, renal, urology post-surgical, general surgery, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine
Titrate Heparin drips and manage RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP as needed
Float to facilities within a 60-mile zone radius as assigned, which may include same-day Just-In-Time (JIT) assignments communicated 1–2 hours before shift start
Adhere to nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6 based on acuity, working alongside designated charge nurses and nurse aides
Maintain flexibility with scheduling to fill gaps, fulfill weekend shift requirements (6–9 shifts per 6-week schedule), and participate in holiday rotation as needed
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure in the state of Kansas (or compact eligibility)
Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience within the last 3 years
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Ability to float throughout a 60-mile zone radius and secure housing that supports this requirement
Must be physically present in state for the full week of orientation
Ability to submit all time-off requests prior to assignment start
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a neurological nursing setting
Familiarity with Alaris infusion pump systems
Experience with EPIC electronic health records
