Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend | Holidays as Needed | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct inpatient nursing care to a diverse patient population with multiple co-morbidities, including a specialized stroke and neuro patient population
- Monitor and manage telemetry patients, including remote monitoring and on-unit telemetry observation
- Perform and manage vascular access procedures including IV starts, peripheral line care, central line care and management, PICC line management, and port access
- Administer blood products and manage feeding tube care
- Implement isolation precautions and perform wound care, including wound vac management
- Float to other system campuses as needed and maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–1:6
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- BLS and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Telemetry experience with remote monitoring required
- Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed, required for all RNs regardless of specialty)
Preferred Experience / Skills- On-unit telemetry monitoring experience preferred
- Experience caring for CVA and stroke patient populations
- Familiarity with nasal cannula oxygen delivery and respiratory support
