Job Title

RN – Medical Surgical / Telemetry, Float Pool

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Day Shifts | 36 Hours per Week | Every Other Weekend, Every Other Holiday

Key Responsibilities
  • Float across multiple acute care units including medical-surgical, orthopedics, urology, neurology, GYN, cardiology/telemetry, surgery, and cardiothoracic, adapting quickly to varying unit needs and patient populations
  • Deliver direct patient care in a fast-paced environment with an average patient ratio of 5:1
  • Independently read and interpret telemetry strips and monitor cardiac rhythms
  • Administer and manage intravenous medications and therapies utilizing Meditech
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across departments to ensure continuity and quality of patient care
  • Maintain availability most Fridays as required by unit staffing needs
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or compact eligibility
  • Minimum 4 years of recent acute care experience
  • Some stepdown experience required for night shift assignments
  • Ability to independently read telemetry strips and pass an on-site telemetry exam on Day 1 with a score of 84% or better (maximum 2 attempts)
  • At least one recent, successfully completed travel nursing contract
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Psychiatric nursing experience highly preferred
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health records strongly preferred
  • 5 or more years of previous float pool experience
