Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct, age-specific patient care using the Nursing Process to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes
- Monitor telemetry and promptly recognize and escalate cardiac and clinical changes
- Lead and delegate tasks to support staff while maintaining overall accountability for patient care
- Maintain regulatory compliance with state and federal laws and facility policies
- Deliver compassionate patient and family education tailored to individual needs
- Participate actively in clinical orientation and unit teamwork to ensure continuity of care
- Keep certifications current and complete required trainings prior to your start date
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Vermont or compact as applicable)
- Clinical experience in Med-Surg and/or Telemetry settings
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required prior to contract start
- PALS or ENPC certification required prior to contract start
- De-escalation training required (active before start or a booked course at clinical orientation)
- Strong leadership, delegation, and documentation skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in the Nursing Process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Direct patient care skills across age-specific populations
- Regulatory and standards-based practice awareness
- Clinical leadership and effective delegation
- Patient/family communication and de-escalation techniques
