Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of prior Telemetry experience required License: Must have a valid nursing license Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Travelers must be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs. Team-based care delivery model with bedside RN, LPN, and CNA. 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period, including Saturday and Sunday days or Friday and Saturday nights. Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Description: The unit is a 40-bed medical-surgical unit caring for patients ages 18 and older. Patients may present with acute and/or chronic illnesses such as sepsis, respiratory, gastrointestinal, endocrine, cardiac diseases, and COVID-19. Staff members will manage titratable drips, chest tubes, tracheostomies, complex wound care, and high oxygen delivery systems. End-of-life care is also a component of patient management. The team-based care delivery model began in January 2025, focusing on collaborative work among licensed and unlicensed healthcare professionals. This model promotes teamwork, communication, and leadership, allowing nurses to work to the top of their scope. Staff will include lead nurses, bedside registered nurses, virtual nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing assistants. Virtual nurses perform administrative tasks requiring RN licensure but do not necessitate physical presence. Ratios are 1:8 during the day and 1:9 at night. Floating to various units within the hospital is expected to meet facility needs. Candidates must possess experience in managing drips on all floors. Previous experience in a large urban hospital is required. EPIC charting experience is necessary. Appropriate skills include managing cardiac drips, performing tracheostomy care, and familiarity with various medical conditions and treatments. A 100% nicotine-free environment is enforced. Local candidates are not accepted for this position. RTO restrictions allow up to two weeks of requested time off. Compliance documents are due by the specified deadline prior to the start of the contract.
