Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of prior Telemetry experience required in a large urban hospital License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Prior telemetry experience - EPIC charting experience Description: This position involves a team-based care delivery model with bedside Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants. Travelers will be prioritized for floating among units to meet staffing needs. The unit cares for patients aged 18 and older with various medical and telemetry conditions, including sepsis, respiratory, gastrointestinal, endocrine, cardiac diseases, and COVID-19. Staff members will manage titratable drips, chest tubes, tracheostomies, complex wound care, and end-of-life care. Team-based care promotes teamwork, communication, and leadership through a collaborative approach to patient care. The nurse-patient ratio during the day is 1:8. Travelers may float to different units within the facility to meet its needs. The facility is a nicotine-free environment. Scheduled weekend shifts will be required. Holiday work obligations include working two out of three major holidays. Candidates must be more than 100 miles away from the facility. Pending licenses are accepted, but the license must be in hand upon submission. RTO requests must be submitted with the application. The healthcare team includes various support staff such as IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Nurses are expected to possess skills in managing various medical tasks, such as blood product administration, central line management, and wound care. The hospital serves as a teaching facility and specializes in complex patient care. Candidates should be prepared to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
