Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: MS/Tele Float Pool Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in Telemetry or Medical-Surgical nursing License: Valid Nursing License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have 2 years of MS-Tele experience in the last 3 years. Prior neuro experience preferred. Experience with Alaris and EPIC preferred. Description: Nurses are expected to float within the assigned zone. Travelers must obtain housing within a 60-mile radius from the designated city center. Schedules are released 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Weekend shift requirements range from 6 to 9 shifts within a 6-week period. Nurses may be required to participate in holiday rotation. Designated charge nurses are available on each unit. Charge nurses typically do not take patient assignments unless necessary. Patient ratios are maintained at 1:5-6 based on acuity. All travelers can float between multiple units within the zone. Nurse aids are present on the unit. Room for flexibility in scheduling is expected. Cancellation of shifts by the hospital may occur up to 4 times during the assignment. Charting is completed using EPIC. The role involves working with a variety of adult patient populations. Nurses may encounter a range of medical conditions including cardiac, neuro, oncology, and general medicine. Travelers are expected to fulfill requests for time off prior to starting their assignment. Floating into other acuity levels may occur, including low acuity ICU and PCU/Stepdown. Monitoring equipment such as vents and BiPap is available on the unit.
