Job Title: MS/Tele Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical, Telemetry Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2-3 years preferred License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Cardiac experience - Ability to float between units Description: Float Pool MS/Tele Registered Nurse for night shifts. Must have cardiac experience. First-time travelers are welcome with 2-3 years of experience and either Epic or Cerner experience. Traveler can work in two different units in a 12-hour shift depending on need. Requires coverage every other weekend. Documentation system utilized is Cerner. Patient diagnoses include medical, surgical, and observation units. The float pool consists of nurses, patient care assistants, and other support staff. Tasks are assigned based on unit needs during bed meetings. Special equipment includes a video monitoring system that surveys up to 12 patients at a time. Responsibilities include relief for breaks and meals for video monitoring staff. Clinical responsibilities may include interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of cardiac drips. The position involves the management of telemetry patients with a patient ratio of 1:5. Preferred skills include experience with titration of insulin drips and various cardiac medications. Float pool experience is preferred, although not mandatory. This role requires weekend coverage. The facility supports interdisciplinary teams for patient care. Background checks will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Return staff must wait a one-year period before eligible to return as travelers. All candidates must hold an active nursing license. Standard contract length is 14 weeks.
