Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: NY license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience in MS/Tele nursing Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams Proficient in blood product administration Knowledge of central line and peripheral line care Experience with IV starts and maintenance Understanding of CVA and seizure disorders Experience with substance withdrawal management Familiarity with BiPAP/CPAP management Knowledge of high flow nasal cannula and oxygen administration Understanding of isolation precautions Description: The shift will be from 7 AM to 7 PM. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. First-time travelers are not accepted. The unit has a patient ratio of 1:6 during the day, 1:7 at night, and 1:8 on weekends. The predominant patient diagnoses include COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule out. The unit supports interdisciplinary services such as physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and unit secretary. This position involves providing care for adult and geriatric patients. The daily census is approximately 20 patients, with a total of 25 beds in the unit. Candidates must be willing to float as necessary. Epic charting experience is a hard requirement.
