The shift is night, working 12-hour shifts. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. The candidate must have experience in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. Telemetry experience with remote monitoring is essential. Candidates should be familiar with bowel obstruction management and colostomy/ileostomy care. Feeding tube management skills are also required. The nurse will work closely with Rapid Response and Code teams. Experience in blood product administration is mandatory. The role involves central line blood draws as well as managing peripheral lines. Candidates must be proficient in starting and maintaining IVs, as well as administering insulin, PCA, and Heparin. The nurse will manage chest tubes and provide non-invasive airway management. Other duties include oral suctioning and oxygen administration. Wound care and management expertise is crucial for this role. The unit takes care of patients with various diagnoses, including but not limited to diabetes, dementia, COPD, and renal failure. The nurse will need to float to other units as needed and work every other weekend. This position may require working during emergencies or disasters.
