Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 2 years of MS-Tele experience; prior neuro experience preferred Description: Hiring Process: Candidate will interview with the Clinical Team. Candidates are expected to float within the assigned zone covering a specified radius. The traveler is responsible for securing housing that allows for this requirement. Week of orientation requires clinicians to be on-site despite some modules being completed remotely. All shifts are scheduled 4-6 weeks in advance. Schedules follow two formats: Option A involves a single facility assignment with possible floating, while Option B involves Just-In-Time assignments communicated shortly before shifts. Nurse to Patient Ratios are typically 1:5-6 based on the acuity of patients. Common diagnoses include a range of adult and geriatric conditions across various specialties. Travelers may float to other units based on patient needs, including different acuity levels. Charge nurses generally maintain a reduced patient assignment unless absolutely necessary. Nursing staff will encounter various equipment, including respiratory devices. Weekend shift requirements range from 6-9 shifts within a six-week period. Holiday rotations may be expected. Time-off requests must be submitted prior to commencement of assignment. Units will be assigned based on staffing needs and may involve communication via various methods. A specific dress code applies, allowing flexibility in scrub color. Orientation will include several days with a designated preceptor. Common patient types include those from surgical procedures, oncology, and general medicine.
