Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years Med/Tele RN experience required License: Required License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - General Med/Tele skillset, including stroke experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation - Ability to perform trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, and foley insertion/management - Skilled in assessing and managing acute and chronic pain, including for patients with a history of substance abuse - Comfort with post-op neuro and spine care, including providing education to patients and families - Experience in medication gtt management, including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, and IVFs Description: We are looking for a registered nurse in the MedSurg/Tele specialty. This is a night shift position requiring a commitment to high-quality patient care. The unit consists of 36 beds, with patient ratios typically ranging from 1:4 to 1:6, based on acuity. Surge staffing may increase ratios up to 1:7 or 1:8. We manage patients with diagnoses such as spinal surgery, stroke, seizures, myasthenia gravis, and brain tumors. Support within the department includes CNAs, a charge nurse on duty, and various specialists available 24/7. Technology includes an EMR system for documentation and advanced monitoring equipment. Travelers may be required to float to other facilities within a designated region based on patient needs. We value teamwork, a positive attitude, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
