Job Title: Float RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, Pediatric Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Previous hospital RN experience preferred; coronary care experience required; must have completed at least one successful traveler assignment. License: Current NY license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS required. Must-Have: Ability to float to Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, and Pediatric units. Description: The RN should possess a thorough knowledge of nursing principles. The RN must be able to provide quality patient care and assess patients' needs, including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual support. The RN must recognize safety issues for themselves and others while implementing safe lifting and moving techniques for patients. The RN should be able to function well in stressful situations and demonstrate good problem-solving skills. Strong leadership skills are required, with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively. The RN may be required to assume duties as a charge nurse. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience with MEDITECH charting is preferred.
