Description:
This position is for a registered nurse specializing in a fast-paced medical/surgical/telemetry environment.
The unit focuses on providing care to trauma patients who are hemodynamically and medically stable.
Ratios for patient care are typically 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with variations based on staffing.
The healthcare team includes CNAs, care techs, transport teams, and LPNs on some floors.
All travelers are required to work weekends, with a commitment to four weekend shifts within eight possible shifts over a four-week period.
Travelers must also work 2 out of 3 major holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
Talent must be available to float frequently as needed to address the staffing requirements of the facility.
Candidates must possess experience with various nursing protocols, including blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, and central line management.
The facility is a 718-bed acute-care institution and is noted for managing complex cases.
The nursing environment is supported by a multidisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy staff.
A 100% nicotine-free workplace policy is enforced.
