Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Telemetry Float Pool Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 2 years of MS-Tele experience Description: The role involves working in a Float Pool capacity across multiple facilities. Nurses will be expected to float throughout a defined geographical area. The week of orientation is mandatory in order to familiarize with procedures and policies. Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance. Available shifts may be assigned to a single facility or through a Just-In-Time model. Flexibility in scheduling is essential as gaps in permanent scheduling must be filled. The population served includes adults and geriatrics, with a variety of diagnoses in cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, and more. Nurse to patient ratios are typically between 1:5-6 based on acuity. Charge nurses may have a patient assignment depending on unit needs. The role includes the potential to manage low acuity holds in various settings. Self-scheduling is not permitted; leadership creates the schedule. Shift-based color dress code is required. All time-off requests must be submitted in advance. Weekend shifts comprising 6-9 shifts in a 6-week schedule are required. Nurses may also be asked to assist in holiday coverage. Communication regarding float assignments will be provided prior to start dates. Devices and equipment support is provided for essential care needs.
