Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med/Surg/Telemetry Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of inpatient acute care experience within the last 3 years in Med/Surg units (cardiac, spine, neuro). License: RN license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Experience working in different Med/Surg units. Description: Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care. Float across multiple departments and specialties. Care for complex and dynamic patient populations in various medical and surgical general care units and intermediate care units. Utilize critical thinking skills to evaluate and assess patients. Recognize and escalate complications as necessary. Administer appropriate nursing interventions. Demonstrate a commitment to patient and family-centered nursing care. Partner with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, nursing assistants, therapists, and advanced practice providers. Hone interpersonal communication skills and effectively delegate tasks as needed. Expected to float to Neuro and oncology units as necessary. Must possess Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start. Float required as needed. Local rule applies: 50 miles from the facility. Pass/fail testing will be required with strict passing criteria. A telemetry exam will be required prior to the start of the position. Failing the exam may require submission of a course completion certificate for further attempts. The assignment may be canceled if the exam is not passed after three attempts. Experience in managing dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring is essential. Demonstrate skills in patient care and management across multiple health conditions. Participation in interdisciplinary support services is expected.
