Job Title: RN Med/Surg/Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: RN Med/Surg/Telemetry Duration: 8 weeks Shift: 06:00 PM - 06:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification Required Must-Have: Cerner and Epic EMR experience, Telemetry experience Description: This position will provide support for the unit as it prepares for the go-live of a new electronic medical record system. Experience with both Cerner and Epic EMR is required. The assignment has a fixed start and end date. Prior to the end of the assignment, unit needs will be assessed, and an extension could be offered. Travelers will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. A basic dysrhythmia test-out will be given during the first week of the assignment. This test must be passed in order to work on the telemetry/medical-surgical unit. Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Care is coordinated with other health team members. Effectively interacts with patients and other health team members while maintaining high professional standards. Provides high-quality care to various patient populations, including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, and telemetry patients. Floating may be required to non-critical care inpatient units, including to the Emergency Department if needed. Telemetry ratios are currently set at 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. Travelers may occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census. If called in, travelers are expected to respond and arrive on-site within one hour.
