Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Oncology Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred, but not required License: Valid state or compact license required Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required Must-Have: - Chemotherapy competence is not required, but willing to help with professional development. - Previous charge experience preferred. Description: Registered Nurse needed for a mixed acuity unit caring for medical oncology patients. The unit consists of approximately 48 beds, split between PCU and MS Tele. Patient population includes a variety of diagnoses from solid tumors to some blood cancers. High acuity patient population is expected. Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention. Pediatric patients are rare and typically cared for by permanent staff. Self-scheduling requests are encouraged for preferred scheduling. Staffing ratios aim for 1:4-5, but may vary based on unit needs. The first week of orientation consists of day shifts, followed by 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor. Flexibility in scheduling includes possible rotation between days and nights based on department needs. Training is available for chemotherapy and other competencies if interested. Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. Professional growth and development opportunities are available. Must be cooperative with credentialing processes. Two professional references are required, with at least one from a management or leadership position. Current employees are not eligible for this position.
