Med/Surg skillset, including head-to-toe assessment.

NGT/G tube care and parenteral nutrition.
Central line management, including PICC, HD catheter, and midlines.
Foley, nephrostomy, and suprapubic catheter care.
Ostomy care.
Postoperative patient care.
Description:
The unit has 48 beds with an average census of 27 patients.
Patient ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night.
The unit staffing includes 1 unit secretary from 7 AM to 11 PM and PCTs at a ratio of 1:10-15.
There is occasional 1:1 coverage with PCT or patient safety tech.
Equipment includes Hoyer lifts, automated BP machines, bladder scanners, remote telemetry monitoring, and vein finders.
The documentation system used is Altera/Allscripts Sunrise.
Scheduling requires every other weekend commitment, and 12-hour shifts are preferred.
The unit floats to like units.
Participation in daily Multidisciplinary Rounds is required on day shift from Monday to Friday, from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM.
