Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS required Must-Have: Community hospital experience required. Description: PCU Registered Nurse with a patient ratio of 1:5. Charge experience preferred but not required. First-timers are accepted. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required. Weekend requirement includes 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period. Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required. Certifications include BLS, NIHSS, ACLS, and CPI preferred. Skills in MS/Tele, telemetry oncology, cardiac telemetry, ER holding, neuro stepdown, PCU, and DOU are essential. Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia management is necessary. Knowledge of post-cardiac angiogram, post-MI, and pre/post cardiac cath procedures is required. Experience in feeding tube care and management is needed. Candidates must have experience in pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure. Skills required include IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line management. Knowledge of heparin protocols, cardiac drips, and vasoactive drips is essential. Candidates should be familiar with CVA and surgical drains. Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, CPAP, BIPAP, and non-invasive airway management is required. Candidates must follow isolation precautions and have wound care skills. Additional preferred skills include sheath removal, accessing ports, and managing total joint replacements. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics, with a daily census of 24. The unit diagnoses include AMI, cardiac arrhythmia, heart failure, vascular PVD, sepsis, pneumonia, and ETOH withdrawal. Special procedures include pre/post-cath management and femoral line management. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
