Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active Registered Nurse License required Certifications: ACLS and BLS required Must-Have: EPIC experience required Candidates must be able to care for COVID patients Description: This position involves working night shifts. The nurse will be required to work weekends as needed, likely every other weekend. Candidates will be reviewed clinically to determine fit for the unit. If the candidate passes the clinical review and meets all guidelines, they will proceed to the manager for a final decision. Interviews are not guaranteed, and scheduling requests cannot be accommodated. Nurses will float to all medical-surgical floors and potentially to rehabilitation units. There may be expectations to work on major holidays and surrounding days. The facility is tobacco and fragrance-free. A maximum of seven days of requested time off will be accommodated. Patient care includes adults and geriatric populations with a daily census of approximately 30 patients. Interdisciplinary support services are available, including physical therapy and respiratory services. The unit provides care for diverse diagnoses such as CHF exacerbations, respiratory illnesses, and sepsis. Additional special procedures may involve working with stable open heart surgery patients post-ICU. Candidates must have experience with a patient ratio of 5 to 6. Charting will be conducted using the EPIC system. Preferred experience includes previous charge experience and community hospital experience. Nurses should be skilled in accessing and managing ports, administering blood products, and managing dysrhythmias. Compliance with safety and isolation precautions is expected. General unit operations may include telemetry monitoring and care for patients post-cardiac procedures. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in IVs and wound care management.
