Job Title: MS/Tele RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years required License: Active state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS required; NIH preferred Must-Have: - MS/Tele and telemetry experience required - Required cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Telemetry monitoring on the unit - Experience with rapid response teams - IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips experience - Feeding tube care and management experience - Experience with patients with renal failure - Skills in accessing ports and blood product administration - Central line care/management and peripheral line care/management - PICC line management and IV starting skills - Heparin protocols and titration of vasoactive drips experience - Neurological/psychiatric case skills, including CVA experience - Experience with total joint replacements - Respiratory skills, including CPAP/BIPAP management and oxygen administration - Professional knowledge of isolation precautions and wound care Description: The position is for a Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse. The shift is three 12-hour night shifts, from 18:30 to 07:00. The average daily census on the unit is 19, with a capacity of 30 beds. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. Weekend coverage is required, working every other weekend. The clinician may float within their scope to meet facility needs. If census is low, floating to other areas will occur within skill level. Schedule requests should be discussed with the manager. The hospital operates under a critical access and magnet designation. Total staffed beds within the facility is 25. The patient demographic primarily includes adults and geriatrics. Common patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, UTI, pneumonia, and cellulitis. Special procedures performed on the unit include wound vacs and blood transfusions. Additional interdisciplinary support services are available within the facility.
