The position is for night shifts, requiring 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The nurse will be responsible for caring for patients in an observation unit, primarily dealing with ED observation and overnight stays. Patient ratios are typically 3:5 and a maximum of 2:7. The unit has a bed capacity of 16. Candidates must possess a strong background in Med Surg/Telemetry, as well as experience with EPIC electronic medical records. Experience with heparin administration is also required. Nurses will need to commit to working 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. Every other weekend will be part of the schedule. Candidates will be engaged in a variety of surgeries requiring overnight stays.
