Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in acute care License: Compact or state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Telemetry experience Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias Description: Traveler may be assigned to an emergency team. There will be an expectation to remain on-site during emergency events. Specific details regarding pay for emergency events will be communicated as needed. Only apply if comfortable with this expectation. Unit handles a variety of patient diagnoses, including chest pain, CAD, DM, PVD, exacerbated COPD, COVID+, TIA, stroke, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, bradycardia, tachycardia, and rhythm management with cardiac drips not titrated for blood pressure. Special procedures include pre and post angiogram, angioplasty, PPM/AICD insertions, LINQ recorder insertions, EGD, colonoscopy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, wound debridement, chest tube insertions, central line catheter insertions, thoracentesis, and paracentesis. Required equipment includes telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, and wound vacs. Interdisciplinary support is provided by physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 24. Unit has a patient ratio of 6 to 1. Additional support and resources are available within the unit. Travelers must be willing to float to other facilities if needed.
