Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active state nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with patient ratios of 1:5-7 - Proficient in using Cerner charting system - Ability to manage a range of medical equipment and procedures Description: This position is for a Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse. The nurse will work on a 46-bed surgical unit. The primary patient population includes those recovering from trauma surgery, bariatric surgery, abdominal surgery, and amputation surgery. The unit also accommodates overflow patients with medical and cardiac issues. Nurses will need to be comfortable with patient ratios that typically range from 1:5 to 1:7. Every other weekend and every other holiday will be scheduled. The nurse will provide care for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census averages 40 patients. Interdisciplinary support will include various services such as physical therapy and respiratory services. Required skills include managing cardiac telemetry, central line management, and administering blood products. Nurses should have experience in high acuity environments. Candidates must be willing to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as necessary. The position requires successful completion of a series of modules before starting. Please ensure that all required certifications are obtained prior to the start of the assignment. This role will require adherence to professional conduct standards. Any conduct issues, including unprofessional behavior, may lead to contract termination.
