Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, or Progressive Care Unit. Neuro trauma stepdown experience with NIHHS certification preferred. License: Valid state nursing license required. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: Management of telemetry. Interpretation of cardiac rhythms. Management of dysrhythmias. Oxygen protocol. Non-invasive airway management. Peripheral line care and management. Isolation precaution and personal protective equipment experience. Experience with cardiac drips (nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, Nicardipine, other intravenous medical care drips). Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Medical/Surgical Telemetry specialty. The nurse will work in a fast-paced environment with a patient ratio of 1:4 to 6. The experience in telemetry is essential for this role. The nurse will be responsible for managing telemetry and interpreting various cardiac rhythms. Dysrhythmias management and adherence to oxygen protocols are required. Knowledge of non-invasive airway management is necessary. The position involves peripheral line care and management. Compliance with isolation precautions and effective personal protective equipment use is expected. Experience with cardiac drips is crucial, including but not limited to nitro, Cardizem, and amiodarone. The nurse will float within designated areas as required. Every other weekend shift will be expected. The facility is a short-term acute care hospital with a strong emphasis on teaching and trauma care. Interdisciplinary support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. The nurse will work with patients across various medical conditions, contributing to their care and recovery.
