Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in a hospital setting License: Active RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - 2 years experience in a hospital setting - Active RN License - Telemetry experience - ACLS and BLS certifications Description: The unit has 47 beds, including semi-private and private rooms. There is a charge nurse, registered nurses, nursing assistants, a unit clerk, and telemetry technicians on staff. Patient ratios are typically 1:5 and may stretch to 1:6. Key equipment includes Pyxis, Alaris pumps, bladder scanners, EKGs, and dinamp. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech Expanse. Shifts typically run from day to night, with start times of 0645 and 1845 respectively. Candidates should possess strong teamwork skills and be flexible and hardworking. The preferred skills include experience in surgical bariatrics, cardiac care, vascular surgery, and wound care. Common conditions cared for in this unit include vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, general surgery, telemetry, peripheral vascular disease, sepsis, atherosclerosis, GI bleeds, chest tubes, and arrhythmias.
