Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years minimum required License: Current state nursing license Certifications: BLS NIHSS Must-Have: Traveler experience is accepted for first-time travelers Must pass EKG testing prior to start Description: Immediate start available. Must begin on either June 8 or June 15. The unit requires nurses skilled in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry. Skills should include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience with remote monitoring and the use of Rapid Response/Code teams is essential. Nurses should be knowledgeable in bowel obstruction management, colostomy/ileostomy care, and feeding tube management. Pre/Post Hemodialysis management and renal failure experience is required. Nurses must be able to administer blood products, manage central lines, and perform peripheral line care. Phlebotomy skills are necessary, along with PICC line management and IV maintenance. Experience with various airway management techniques, including BiPAP/CPAP, is preferred. Wound care, including wound vacs, should also be within the nurse's skill set. Patient diagnoses may include diabetes, dementia, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, and others. The nurse will work with a patient ratio of 1:6. Floating to other units may be required. Weekend shifts are expected every other week. Nurses must be prepared to work during emergencies or disasters and may be assigned to designated teams as necessary. Additional duties may include using medication and documentation systems effectively. Candidates should have experience in an interdisciplinary support environment.
